Obituary of Bernard (Bernie) Leslie Coalt, Jr.

Bernard (Bernie) Leslie Coalt, Jr., age 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025.

Bernie was born in Luling, Texas to Bernard Coalt and Mildred (Mensay) Coalt on April 7, 1944.  He graduated from Stebbins High School in Dayton, Ohio.  Bernie sold commercial printing for his career.

He enjoyed riding his Harley and was instrumental in strarting the Legion Riders in Venice, Florida and also here in Fort Walton Beach.  An avid pool player, he played with APA Pool League and the TAP League. He was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan and followed college football, in particular Ohio State University.  Bernie was a member in good standing of the Fort Walton Elks Lodge 1795, the Fort Walton Moose Lodge 2193, the Harvey F. Eckhoff VFW Post 7674 Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 221 in Niceville.

Bernie is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (McGreevy) Coalt; son, Mark Coalt, Dayton, Ohio; stepson, John (Marlena) Lesher; step-grandson, JT Lesher, all of Lima, Ohio; sisters, Joyce Comer and Kathi (Bill) Shannon; brother, Chris Coalt (Brigid); several nieces and nephews all of Dayton, Ohio; brother-in-law, John (Jenni) Vallo of Venice, Florida; sisters-in-law, Kathy Conner, Dayton, Ohio and Cathy Merrick of North Carolina.
