Eric “Rick” Jamieson Roy, Sr., of Destin, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, September 3, 2021 at Destin Memorial Cemetery with Dean DeMarra officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 4:00-5:00 PM at Family-Funeral and Cremation, located at 101 Mary Esther Boulevard, Mary Esther, FL 32569. “Rick”, son of the late Patrick Roy and Estella Affeldt Roy, was born September 13, 1955 in Detroit, MI. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Destin. “Rick” was a Meat Clerk and was always working. He saw value in everything, which led to his love for collecting junk. He was a humble, generous man that would help anyone. “Rick” was dedicated and loyal, especially to his family. Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 33 years, Gayle Shirah Roy, of Destin, FL; children Cassie M. McKeithan (Perry) of Davies, NC., Caryn Hurst (Kerry) of Mary Esther, FL., Eric Roy, Jr. of Destin, FL., and Angela Roy, of Destin; grandchildren Corey, Zachary, Levi, Kayleigh, and Noah; siblings Patrick, Roderick, Susan, Mary, Frederick, Ruth, Linda, and Garrick; numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
