Obituary of Jan Ellis Karl

Jan Ellis Karl , 81, of Defuniak Springs, Florida Passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021. He was born in Newark, N.J. on November 15, 1939 to Jack and Ann Robinson Karl. he graduated from Miami Dade Community College with an Associates Degree. He married Texalia (Tex) Median Karl in 1968. He served in the United States Air Force and he worked as an electronics technician after he left the service until his retirement in 2003. He had a pilot's license and loved to fly. He had many hobbies, most prominent was flying model radio controlled airplanes, scuba diving, jiu jitsu, photography and camping. Mr. Karl is survived by his wife, Tex Karl; daughter, Sonya Gilmore (Robert A. Gilmore); son Abram Karl (Victoria Bode Karl); granddaughter, Presley Gilmore; brothers Richard and Robert Karl. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 101 Mary Esther Blvd., Mary Esther, Florida 32569. ( Note: Mary Esther is a subdivision of Ft. Walton Beach).
