Obituary of angela sue owens
Angela Sue Owens passed away at the age of 73 on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 after a brief stay at Baptist Hospital and Parallon in Pensacola, Florida.
Angela was born to Earl Jr. and Thelma (Hoppus) Sprague in Columbus, Indiana on June 18, 1949. She was preceded in death by Howard her husband of almost 50 years, brothers Dwight and Paul, parents
Earl Jr. and Thelma, and stepmom Jeanette. She is survived by her son Jason (Stephanie), grandchildren Dalton and Ramsay, brother Rick (Janeen), and nephews Nick, Wyatt (Amber), and Matthew (Kelly)
Angela grew up on her family farm in Newburn, Indiana. Angela graduated from Columbus High School in 1967. She was a top student and member of Twirling Corps of the Big Blue Marching Band, performing before many home football games, pep rallies, and parades. She attended Purdue University, where she studied business and was a majorette twirler part of the “All-American” Marching Band of Purdue.
Angela and Howard were married on March 1, 1972, in Columbus In. Angela and Howard moved to Gulf Breeze Florida, proudly getting rid of their winter clothes and coats. Angela was always interested in a new and challenging job, but the most memorable for her were working at Interwood Forrest Products importers and exporters of wood veneer and 15 years as the Staff Accountant for Adams Homes in Pensacola Florida.
She and Howard enjoyed retirement and spent a lot of time at car shows displaying the 1941 Chevy Street Rod they were so proud of.
Angela was a proud lifetime member of the VFW post 4407 in Gulf Breeze Florida and could be found there engaging in friendly conversation, enjoying a cold beer, and sometimes a little mischief.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring following her burial at sea. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the VFW post 4407, 1783 Abercrombie Road, Gulf Breeze FL, 32563.
