Obituary of Betty "pat" Phillips
Betty “Pat” Phillips, 89, passed away peacefully, July 4, 2022 at her home in East Milton, Florida.
Mrs. Phillips was born 24th June 1933 in Wheeling, West Virginia. She worked as a housekeeper and waitress for most of her life and then worked at an antique shop in Pensacola, FL after retirement. She never had biological children but that never stopped her from being a mother to many children throughout the years of her life.
Mrs. Phillips is preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Porter; sister, Doris Laster; brother, David Lasater; brother-in-law, Dennis Caughorn; sister-in-law, Debbie Lasater; and grandson, Jerry Jones. Mrs. Phillips family after that surpasses a title given of a family member. She befriended Doris P Lasater for over 50+ years and became her sister and gained a brother. Through David and Doris, she became Aunt Pat and Granny Pat to so many children.
Mrs. Phillips leaves behind daughter Barbara Caughorn; son, Tony Lasater; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was truly a blessing to many people in many ways. She loved and lived by giving to others and being charitable. She always put others before herself, was the true definition of a giving soul, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A Visitation will be held Saturday July 9,2022 at Family Funeral and Cremation at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am. Mrs. Phillips will be buried next to her mother at Milton Historic Cemetery following her services.
