Obituary of george webster blisard
George Webster Blisard SFC (U.S. Army, Ret.), 82, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021.
George W. Blisard passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2021 at Baptist Hospital surrounded by the love of his life, his wife, Linda Blisard and daughters Lisa Ayres, Andrea Plante, and Brandy Blisard. Born in Philadelphia and after serving his country and traveling the world for more than 23 years in the United States Army, George relocated his family to Pensacola, Florida. He was an absolutely charming gentleman, fierce protector of his loved ones, lover of animals, gifted artist, voracious reader, and connoisseur of coffee, good wine, Scotch, and malted milkshakes. A kind and loving soul and excellent listener he offered his quiet wisdom gained by living a full and expressive life. His concern for others and willingness to help anyone in need remains one of many invaluable lessons he taught through his words and deeds. He had a mischievous sense of humor and was aptly described by a neighbor as "spicy." His family is deeply mourning his passing; however, they are comforted knowing that he is at peace and in the loving embrace of God.
He is also survived by his grandchildren Stephen Veres and his wife Desiree and Douglas Blisard-Engler and his wife Stephanie, great-grandchildren Aidan Engler, Ayva Engler, Camden Engler, and Theodore Veres, and many pets and grand-pets.
His family wishes to thank the Escambia County first responders and wonderful professionals at Baptist Hospital for their excellent medical service to him and remarkable acts of kindness to his family during a very difficult time.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, his family has postponed his celebration of life until it is safe to do so.
In lieu of flowers, please consider celebrating George's life with a donation to the USO or the Pensacola Humane Society.
