Obituary of roger david calvin
Roger David Calvin, 79, of Pensacola, FL, and a former Quad-City resident, passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hal and Marion Calvin; sons, Jim and David Calvin.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Joan Calvin; three children, Kathie (Bob) Lanham, Kris Hamilton, Stacy (Danny) Cornwell; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and a little brother, Doug (Barb) Calvin.
Roger was a car enthusiast. Whether it was tinkering under the hood, doing a custom build, attending a car show, or watching NASCAR, he enjoyed them all. He also loved the outdoors, travelling and spending time with family.
His career embraced many of the things he enjoyed. He worked at ALCOA Davenport Works for over 30 years in both mechanical and maintenance supervision roles. After retirement he and Joan relocated to Florida where he took a job with Penske Trucking for several years.
