Obituary of frances irene pattison

Frances Irene Pattison, 65, a Pensacola native and life-long resident, passed away January 17, 2021 after a long illness. She was born February 16, 1954 in Pensacola, Florida to the late Harry R Davis, Sr. and Mary Catherine Davis. Fran graduated from B. T. Washington Senior High School in 1972, Pensacola Junior College in 1974 and the University of West Florida in 1977 with a B.A. in Education. She was an elementary teacher for 28 years. She taught at St. John’s Catholic School, O J Semmes and retiring as a Media Specialist from Brentwood Middle School. Fran was a Girl Scout from 1st grade through 12th. She loved scouting so much she didn’t quit after graduating high school. She volunteered as leader for numerous troops. She loved camping and the beach so much she started the popular summer camp known as the “Beach Bums”. She was awarded the “Thanks Badge” in 1993 by Girl Scouts of the Florida Panhandle chapter of Girl Scouts of Gateway Council. This badge is awarded to volunteers who so significantly go above and beyond the call of duty that no other award would be appropriate. Most recently Fran volunteered at the Gulf Island National Seashore. She greeted guests at the gift shop and the museum at Ft. Pickens. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Gerald Pattison; her father, Harry R Davis, Sr.; her father-in-law, Eugene Pattison and her brother-in-law, Jack Castleberry. She is survived by her mother, Mary Catherine Davis; sisters, Lynn Castleberry, Teresa Furney (Rocky) and Paula Ferraro (Sal) and her brother, Harry R Davis, Jr. (Nancy). She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved nieces and nephews, Karen Gossett (Terry), Kevin Castleberry (Sunni), Bryan Castleberry (Brandie), Christina Davis (Neal), Emily O’Quinn (Mickey), Justin Furney (Arlene) Mary Williams (Brandon), Lauren Xhindoli (Genti), Salvador Ferraro III, Nicco Ferraro and Matteo Ferraro; 18 great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew as well as several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Sacred Heart, 1212 East Moreno Street, Pensacola FL 32503 on February 12, 2021. Family and friends may visit from 11:30 to 12:30 followed by mass. A private family committal at Barrancas National Cemetery to follow in the afternoon.
