Obituary of margaret eleanor smith davis

Margaret Eleanor Smith Davis, 89, of Dothan Alabama born on July 5, 1931 passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Eleanor was a homemaker, mother of 4, a woman of strength and an example of protection for those she loved. She also had style as she walked and shared her Christian life and faith. She was a member of the Westgate Church of Christ (formerly Park Ave. Church of Christ) in Dothan, AL for over 55 years and was a faithful supporter of St. Jude’s Hospital. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Jackson and Nora Elizabeth McClellan and six of her seven siblings. Eleanor is survived by her husband, Robert Davis; her four children, Thomas (Yvette) Smith, Terrie Smith, both of Dothan, AL, Jim Smith of Niceville, FL and Jodie Smith (Chris) Jensen of Pensacola Beach, FL; stepsons, Kenny Davis of Pace, FL and Royce Davis of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Scott (Jamie) Smith, Adam Smith, Elliot (Darby) Smith and Elizabeth (Layo) Lowe; great grandchildren, Spencer Smith, Cole Smith, Autumn Frost and Alex Smith; brother, Thomas (Betty) McClellan; nieces and nephews, Bill Turner, Christine Turner and numerous other family members. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Memory Hill Cemetery, 2414 Hartford Hwy., Dothan, AL 36305. Song leaders at service will be Terry Pierce and Dr. Joe Clements with Chris Jones of Westgate Church of Christ officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Smith, Adam Smith and Elliot Smith.
