Obituary of ralph edward wheeler
Ralph Edward Wheeler, 52, of Pensacola, Florida passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2020.
He was born in Avon Park, Florida on November 25, 1967 to Edward C. Wheeler and Frances Scoggins. A veteran of the Persian Gulf War, he proudly served as an Avionics Technician in the U. S. Navy from 1989 to 1997 before receiving an honorable discharge as a Petty Officer 2nd Class. He loved to race cars all his life, and most recently accomplished his dream of competing at the Snowball Derby in Pensacola and had just celebrated his first All-Tech Raceway win in Lake City.
Ralph was Florida born and bred. He loved everything about his home, especially fishing in the Gulf of Mexico, boating on the Blackwater River, and finding the rich history Florida has to offer. He loved exploring historical sites, whether they were civil war forts, abandoned speedways, or familial cemeteries. He was deeply devoted to his mother and offered love, stability, and eternal support to his daughters and their spouses. He enjoyed helping others and lived a giving life.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eddie Wheeler and his grandmother, Sabra Pierce.
Ralph Wheeler is survived by his daughters, Airon Huffmon (Son) and Danielle Wheeler (Jack); his mother, Frances Wheeler; his siblings, Phyllis Shumate (Carl), Cindy Dyda (Chuck), and Steve Wheeler (Cathy).
Due to COVID-19, a memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
