Obituary of Gregory charles welford

Gregory Charles Welford, 64, born on October 23, 1955 went to go be with his wife, Susan and oldest daughter, Rachel on November 20, 2019. I like to believe he is happier and more in his true to self, original, state of mind/spirit being reunited to them. He was also reunited with his mother, Lydia and father, Marcus Welford Jr. Gregory has three brothers, Paul, James, and Mark and one sister, Linda Patterson. He was happily a Paw Paw to Catherine and Jr., who belonged to his youngest daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Josh Sr. One of his many accomplishments in life was being in the army for 11 1/2 years. He was a Staff Sergeant, his primary specialty being Indirect Fire Infantryman. After honorable retirement, he went on to security work at Sacred Heart Hospital. He always had a strong work ethic no matter how much pain or how wore out he was. He always put his wife and kids first and he would do anything to provide for his family. He was always there for his wife and kids 100% no matter what, going above and beyond. He was very much appreciated and loved in everything he did for them. He was a very strong person, not really one to show his emotions and had a unique sense of humor to go along with it. Some things I think of when I am remembering him is our special family vacations we would take mainly to Panama City Beach. We loved the beach and water parks. He use to be obsessed with sunbathing and getting his hair blonde as can be. One vacation was to Atlanta, Ga. where it felt like we were lost for hours but he swore up and down we were not. I think we were going in circles. He probably would still tell you we were not lost. He also used to be a huge clean freak and he was always cleaning something it seems like. He took pride in his vehicles, especially his 1985 Chrysler Fifth Avenue. I remember him going outside to wipe it down and clean the wheels every single day. He also enjoyed going to the greyhound tracks as a family. We have been to the Pensacola, Mobile, and Jacksonville tracks. He also really enjoyed Nascar. He was an amazing person and an even better dad. May his final destination be a happier place for him where he can enjoy his time with his loved ones that passed and watch over his loved ones that are remembering him.
