Obituary of william john sowden, sr.

William John Sowden, Sr., 73, of Pensacola, Florida went to be with the lord on July 21 2019 with his son, grandson and granddaughter at his side. Bill was born in Ottumwa, Iowa to William and Nadine Sowden on March 21, 1946 and graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1964. William served in the U. S. Army from 1965-1968 and worked for REA Express, Hertz Corporation and John Deer Ottumwa Works, retiring in 2003. He married Linda Y. Ward on June 12, 1966 and enjoyed time with his family and friends. He loved doing woodworking and going to the Palafox Market in Pensacola, Florida. He will be missed deeply by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; parents, William and Nadine Sowden; sister, Betty Nine and nephew, Brian Housley. He is survived by his son, William (Lorissa) Sowden; daughter, Yvonne Baldwin Greene; grandchildren, Mike and Catherine Sowden and Dylan Baldwin; siblings, Bob and Olga Sowden, Ronnie and Vickie Sowden, Jay and Paul and Melissa Sowden, Mary and Rick Vaught, Patty Aalbers, Melody Wiedman and many great nieces and nephews. His body has been cremated and his memorial service will be August 10, 2019 at 3:00pm at Northgate Alliance Church, 2705 North Court Road, Ottumwa, Iowa 52501.
