Obituary of Robert J. Hartley, Sr.

Robert Jacob Hartley, Sr., of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Mobile, Alabama passed away December 31, 2018. He was born in Mobile, Alabama to Charles H. Hartley and Edwina M. (Balzli) Hartley. Robert graduated from McGill Catholic Boys High School in 1950. He was employed as an Architectural hardware Consultant for the following firms, McGowin Lyons, Standard Hardware, Brabner and Hollon, Warren Hollow Metal and Krauss Contract Sales. Robert also served in the Alabama National Guard for 8 years in the 1950's. Robert and his late wife, Mary, moved to Pensacola in the 1960's. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Charles; his sister, Margaret Schottgen; and grandson, Chris Reed. Also preceding him in death was the mother of his eight children, Mary Minyard Hartley who passed away in 1991. Robert is survived by his wife of 25 years, Randee Wilson Hartley; his eight children, Robert (Michele), Theresa (Stanley), Joseph (Fran), Charles (Enola), John, Jennifer (Judy), Matthew and Maggie (Clay); 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Besides being a devoted and loving father and husband, he was an avid University of Alabama fan. Roll Tide! Graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Holy Cross Cemetery. Father Tom Koyickal will be officiating.
