Obituary of Walter C. Knauf, Jr.

Walter Charles Knauf, Jr., 76, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Pensacola, Florida. Walter was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 19, 1942. He graduated from Columbus (Ga) High School with the class of 1959. He then proceeded to work at Walt’s Furniture stores in Columbus before retiring with Rhodes Furniture in 1997. His retirement years were spent enjoying his time at home in Cantonment, Florida, with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Charles, Sr. and Dorothy Lavelle and sister, Charlotte Creech. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandra; his children, Sandra Lorraine Pearce (Alan), Walter Charles III “Chip” and three grandchildren, Ellie Pearce, Alaina Pearce and Willem Knauf and sister, Bobbie Lovell (Rudy). A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 29,2018 at the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery, in Columbus, Ga.
