Obituary of Beryl Ann Wilder Levchik
Beryl Ann Wilder Levchik, born in New Orleans, Louisiana, in August 1930. She passed away at home after a lengthy illness, on 29 November 2016, surrounded by her family.
Beryl grew up in New Orleans, LA. She trained for four years at Hotel-Dieu Hospital in New Orleans, becoming a Registered Nurse in 1952. She met her husband, Nicholas Levchik, at Keesler AFB and they were married in Biloxi, Mississippi, in November 1952. She served around the world, including Germany and Spain, and stateside in Pennsylvania, Colorado and Alabama, as she supported her husband during his diverse military assignments in the Army Air Corps and Air Force. After her husband died in 2011, she continued to dévote herself to her faith and her family.
A much-loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Beryl will be fondly remembered for her unfailing love, delightful personality, generosity of spirit, and consistent cheerfulness. An exceptionally devoted Catholic, she worshiped at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL. Her family and friends are blessed by Beryl’s extraordinary Christian life; she truly walked the walk.
In addition to wonderful memories, Beryl leaves behind her four children; Linda Levchik Burker of Pensacola, FL, Nicholas Levchik, Jr. of Prattville, Alabama, Wayne E. Levchik of Pensacola, FL, and Elizabeth Levchik Lee of Kailua, Hawaii, twelve grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Her beloved sister, Peggy Carmouche, preceded her through heaven’s gate earlier this year.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pensacola, FL on December 7th at 10 AM, followed by a private committal at Barrancas National Cemetery.
