Obituary of Jeffrey Allen Wright

Jeffrey “Pirate” Allen Wright a retiree and resident of Oscoda, Michigan, tragically passed away at age 59
on Monday evening, April 3, 2023, while visiting friends in Freeport, Florida. Jeffrey was born in East
Tawas, Michigan on July 24, 1963, to Sandra Joy Gibbs. Jeffrey is survived by his mother Sandra (Gibbs)
Keener and his loving aunt Andrea (Gibbs) Smith, Brother Peter (Melanie) Kareus, his children Jennifer
(Kenneth) Baker, Cassandra (Nicholas) Baumgartner, James Wright, Jessica (Eric) Brothers, Jessica
Marthis, Daniel Wright and Dustin (Kelly) Wright and is also survived by thirteen grandchildren,
extended family and friends.

Jeffrey was a master welder for over 30 years and a member of the Iron Workers Union, an avid
gardener, lover of chihuahuas, an amazing artist and craftsman. He was an outdoorsman and a handy-
man who you could always call to fix something. He loved to kayak and being on the water. He enjoyed
these last few years he spent living with his auntie building their home together with their dogs, Angel,
Sassy, Sammie, Useless and Satin. He loved being a “Paw Paw” to all of his grandchildren and spending
time on the water with them. He owned his faults and wore them proudly for all to see. He never
backed down from his convictions and he fought for and loved his family and friends fiercely. He would
give you the shirt off of his back and the food from his plate. He will be deeply missed by his family,
friends and all of those who knew him. Memorial services to be announced in the coming weeks.
