Obituary of Don Stephen Oglesby
Don Stephen Oglesby passed away peacefully April 10, 2023. He was 72 years young and a long-time resident of the Pensacola & Milton area.
Don was born on December 9, 1950 to Oscar & Eunice Oglesby. He was the youngest of four children. Don was a graduate of Woodham High School and Pensacola Junior College. He was a maintenance specialist for the Federal Government for 28 years and Pensacola State College for 17. He spent 2 years in the Army prior to his federal career. He raised his only son Philip Oglesby and loved to talk about Philip’s sports endeavors and Philip’s Marine Corp service. In his adult life he excelled in tennis, loved golf, and could shoot some mean hoops. After years of friendship he married the love of his life Christine Morales. They enjoyed spending time relaxing at Krul Lake in Munson, spending time with family, and sharing laughs with good friends. Christine later became his sole caregiver while he fought dementia.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Christine; his son Philip;his stepchildren Meghan and Steven; grandchildren Hannah, Sarah, Reed, Makenzie and Annika; ; grandchildren Hannah, Sarah, Reed, and Makenzie; his siblings Helen Spohn and Tom Oglesby (Terry).
The family would like to give special thanks for Synthia King of Windemere Memory Care, his Hospice nurse Ellen, the many other staff members, and a special thanks to Donna & Dan Arndt for their countless hours of help and support for Don & Christine over the last 5 years.
