Obituary of Gary David Goeke

Gary David Goeke, 69, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

He was one of five sons born to Barbara and Harvey Goeke, now deceased. Gary graduated and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Marine Biology from The University of South Alabama.  He held a long career with the federal government and retired as Chief of the Environmental Assessment Section, US Dept. of the Interior, BOEM. After retiring, he enjoyed a quiet life spent visiting with family and friends, enjoying refinishing furniture, making furniture, reading, and gardening projects.

Gary is survived by his two sons, David and Matthew, and his former wife, Susie. He is also survived by four brothers and their families, Don, Michael, Stephen and Richard. 

Gary will be remembered for his wit and humor and kind heart that he shared with family and friends. He was loved and will be missed dearly.
