Demetrius Jones

Obituary of Demetrius Alexander Jones

In Loving Memory of Demetrius Alexander Jones.

On October 17, 1989, a day forever etched in history as the Oakland/San Francisco earthquake, Demetrius was due to come into this world.  Although his arrival was delayed by a week, he brought with him a sense of hope and resilience.  As his parents first born, he brought so much joy and warmth to his family.  At the age of 2 1/2, Demetrius and his family relocated to Florida, where he would embark on a life full of determination and love.

Demetrius began his educational journey at Baker School before transitioning to homeschooling, which provided him with the opportunity to pursue his technical skills.  With his unwavering dedication, he graduated as a skilled plumber.  Even at the young age of 16, Demetrius secured a job as a plumber, exemplifying his strong work ethic and determination.

His zest for life was infectious, and he effortlessly formed lasting friendships wherever he went.  Demetrius had a heart of gold, and his love for others was boundless.  He possessed an innate ability to make those around him feel cherished and supported.

Despite facing the challenges of being almost completely blind, Demetrius discovered solace and purpose in his work kitchen.  With great skill and culinary artistry, he transformed the kitchen where he worked into his sanctuary.  He had dreams and aspirations, and the kitchen was where he envisioned them coming to life.  While his diminishing eyesight became a source of frustration, it could never overshadow his passion for creating in the kitchen.

Demetrius was a person whose presence left an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered.  Each memory of him brings forth a smile, a testament to his genuine and infectious spirit.

During this difficult time, we kindly ask for your prayers and support for Demetrius' family, especially his beloved daughter, Anaxandra, and his close friends who will deeply miss him.  Demetrius, you will forever hold a special place in our hearts, and we are forever grateful for the time we shared.

Demetrius leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.  He is survived by his mother and father, Alfarri and Joanne Jones; his cherished brother, Chris Jones; and beloved sister, Lina Oxner.  Demetrius also leaves behind his adored daughter, Anaxandra, who was the light of his life.  Additionally, he will be deeply missed by his nephews, Kyran and Dayquan, as well as his nieces, Armani and Asia.  He also leaves behind his wife Kim Jones, Aunts Eula and Carolyn Jones; Tio Fred and Tia Susan Alardin; Uncle Jerry and Aunt Estrella Bibbey, Uncle Michael (Carlene); cousin's Freddy (Karla) Alardin, Mike (Kenia) Alardin, Chris (Jannet) Alardin, Anderson Bibbey and numerous friends who share in his proufound loss.

Rest in peace, dear Demetrius.  Your memory will live on while we await the Resurrection.  (Acts 24:15)
