Obituary of John Thomas Mayberry
John Thomas Mayberry of Fort Walton Beach, Florida passed peacefully and surrounded by love on July 11, 2023.
He was born in Massachusetts in October of 1949 to George and Gertrude Mayberry. He graduated from Clinton High School where he played defense on the CHS football team. In 1985 while in the Philippines, he met and married Mercedita Querino.
John proudly served his country for 20 years in the US Air Force Communications Squadron and retired in 1989. He then worked for the city of Destin, Florida as a Waste Water Treatment Operator and attended Pensacola Junior College and University of Florida. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. John loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his friends. His hobbies included traveling, a passion for cars, and being with his loved ones.
He is survived by his older sister, Ann Dukes; older brother, Donald Mayberry; daughter, Joanne Hirzel; son-in-law, Steven Hirzel and his grandaughters, Lily and Mya Hirzel.
