Obituary of Donald Edward Hellard
Donald “Don” E. Hellard of Pensacola, FL was called home on September 15 th 2023 surrounded by his wife and two daughters. He will be loved forever by many. His legacy lives on.
He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on November 22nd, 1954 to mother Imogene Chapman and father Daniel Hellard. He enlisted in the United States Navy in September of 1973 and retired as a Senior Chief AMCS in January of 1994. During his time in the Navy, he served as an Aircraft Maintenance Chief as well as a Search and Rescue swimmer (SAR). He was a proud member of the HC16 “Bullfrogs from the past”. After his military service, he completed his Bachelors in social work and served the children and families in our community for 10 years. In his retirement, he enjoyed cooking, painting, sports, true crime, gaming, and loving his family.
Don is survived by his loving wife of almost 46 years, Leisa Hellard; daughters, Tara Hellard and Kaila Hadden; and grandchildren Aiden Rice and Carly Hadden.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for September 30th at Family Funeral and Cremation on 5627 N Davis Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32503. Visitation begins at 1400 (2:00) with Military Honors and Service beginning at 1500 (3:00).
