Obituary of Barbara Lee Chanove

Barbara Lee Fain Chanove passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 1, 2023 at the age of 95. She was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Amore and Ruth Fain. She attended the University of Kentucky and graduated with a degree in Library Science. She held positions in several libraries over 40 years. The last one was Head of Branch in Cincinnati, Ohio from where she retired after 31 years of service. Barabara and her husband loved animals and gave home to many dogs and cats over the years. Barbara was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. She had many friends who will miss her and will be remembered for her loving ways.

Barbara is preceded in death of her loving husband of 52 years Wilson E. Chanove, her daughter Melissa G. Sharkey, cousin Nancy Bell-Johnson, her brother White Fain and her parents Amore and Ruth Fain. Barbara is survived by her son-in-law Bruce Sharkey whom became her caring, loving, dedicated caregiver since 2015. She is also survived by her grandaughter Lisa Sharkey, great grandsons Noah Trahan and Nicholas Sharkey, Cousin Kitty Johnson, Cousin John Foley and his son Brandon Foley.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Walker and the staff of West Florida Hospital along with Covenant Hospice care especially nurse Paula for the care they provided for Barbara and her family.

Barbara will be buried with her husband in a family plot in the Lexington, Ky Cemetery
