Obituary of Michael Lafayette Cook

Michael Lafayette Cook, age 76 of Navarre, Florida was called home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.  Mike was an avid Washington Commanders fan, big animal lover, loved to go fishing, telling a good joke or story, and he never met a stranger. Mike was a United States Army Veteran.  Mike resided at Navarre Gardens in Navarre, FL for the past few years, where he had made many friends, and enjoyed making jewelry for the staff and other residents there.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Louise Cook; father, Thomas Jefferson Cook;  mother, Ruth Pearl Floyd Cook; brother, Thomas Jefferson Cook Jr.; and sister, Peggy Jo Nelson.  He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, of which his Paternal grandparents Myrtle Stewart Cook and James Lee Cook raised Mike and his sister, Ann.

Mike is survived by sons, Michael (Kimberly) Cook, Sr. and Thomas (Shellie) Cook; daughter, Frances Cook; sisters, Ann James, Sharon Cook Keith, Annie (Devan) Christian, and Laura (Roger) May;  many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
