Obituary of Sandra Kay Bridges
Sandra Kay Bridges, born on 10 March 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully in Pensacola, Florida on 21 February 2024. She was the beloved daughter of Bill and Ruby Clayton. Sandra was a loving wife to Johnnie Keith (Sid) Bridges, whom she married in Coronado, California on April 14, 1979. Together, they shared a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories while they traveled the world in service to the U.S. Navy. She is survived by her daughter, Heather Nichole Roberts, who was the light of her life. Sandra adored her grandchildren, Avery, Kaylin, and Austin, and cherished every moment spent with them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Ruby Clayton, her son Brandon Eugene Kidwell, and her brother Bart Eugene Clayton. Sandra is also survived by her siblings, Bo (Barbara) Clayton, Gail (Dennis) Elsken, Jody (Greg) Gatewood, and Alicia (Bill) Cook. Sandra was a very talented crafter, pouring her heart and soul into creating beautiful pieces of art. She had a heart bigger than life itself, always putting others before herself. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Sandra's memory. They are grateful for the support and care provided by all the caregivers over the past months. Sandra Kay Bridges will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her legacy of love, compassion, and creativity will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in peace.
Services will be held on Monday March 11,2024 with visitation beginning at 12:00 pm, followed by a memorial service at 1:00pm. There will be a procession to Baranncas National Cemetery for a committal service at 2:30 pm
