Obituary of Janis Kay Parker
Janis Kay Parker, 77, of Pensacola, FL, passed away March 8, 2024. Janis was born in Fairhope, AL May 27, 1946 to Hiram and Ella Mable Pardue. Throughout her life Janis attended Foley high school, Pensacola Jr College, and The University of the State of New York. She began her career as a Registered Nurse for West Florida Hospital and after 20+ years, moved onto home health and eventually retired as a hospice nurse.
Janis is preceded in death by her parents Hiram Pardue and Ella Giles Pardue; and sisters, Barbara Thompson, Pauline Thompson, Ruth White, Nora Parnell, Linda Pardue, and Leola Paschal.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Chapman of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Bryan Parker (Kim) of Pace, FL; brother, Kelly Pardue of Pace, FL; sisters, Viola Steadham of Pensacola, FL, Judy Chaffin of Gastonia, NC, and Mae Pardue of Elberta, AL; grandchildren, Cheyenne Chapman MacDonald (Johnny), Caitlin Chapman, and Blake Parker (Kayla); great-grandchildren, Isaac Parker, and Wyatt Parker; as well as numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Janis was a well-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Aunt, and friend. She spent her life serving and caring for others, as was her passion. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday April 5, 2024 at Family Funeral and Cremation 5627 N Davis Hwy Pensacola, FL. Visitation will begin at 4 pm, followed by a memorial service at 5pm. Guests are asked to wear floral print in honor of Ms. Parkers memory; those who are able will also be asked to share a favorite memory they have of Janis.
