Obituary of Judith Marie Houghton
Judith (Judy) Marie Houghton age 78 of Pensacola, Fl went to be with the LORD June 8, 2024 in her home with her husband close at her side.
Judy was born in Bay Minette, Al. 22 September 1945and later the family relocated to the community of Bradley, Al. where she grew up. Judy was a graduate of W.S. Neal High School and following graduation she attended Business School in Birmingham, Al. Judy returned home and worked at the Medical Center Clinic Pensacola and later for the Escambia Fl. County School System as a Teacher Aide, she loved those children. Judy was a wonderful cook and baker and had the gift of hospitality, sharing wonderful meals with family and friends. Judy loved being in the kitchen and had a wonderful library of cook books.
Judy lite up a room when she entered, she loved to decorate, entertain, dine and travel. She was a “wonderful” homemaker.
Judy dearly loved her church, First Baptist Church Pensacola. We would like to think brother Dave Snyder Paster and staff along with her Sunday School class (Dr James Callaway teacher) for their support you are ever so loved and appreciated. Judy truly loved the music programs and the wonderful choir and always said how uplifting and a blessing they were to the church. We would also like to thank all our friends who were there by her side and supported her husband. Words can not express our love and appreciation for each of you.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents Samual Leroy and Gladys King and one sister Jaqulan Hasselbrink.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years Robert W (Hank) Houghton, brother-in-law William (Billy) M Houghton, one sister Janis Thompson of Brewton, one nephew Eddy Thompson of Wing, Al, Nieces Tina Findley and Kara Blackman both of Brewton, Owen Blackman of Brewton, Matthew Smith of Louisiana; Great Nieces: Maggie Thompson of Key West Fl, Jaqulan Findley of Brewton , Nichole Whittle of Brewton, Sara Martin of Louisiana.
Services will be grave side 06/29/2024 : 11am officiated by Dr James Callaway at the Bradley Assembly of God Church Cemetery with light refreshments at the church social center. The Bradley church/cemetery is located in the community of Bradley, 16305 Bradley Rd. Wing Al.
A Memorial service will be held July 13, 2024, 10:30am visitation with 11am service at the First Baptist Church Pensacola Plietz Chapel, 500 N Palafox St, Pensacola Fl.
In lieu of flowers please provide donations to the American Diabetes Association.
