Obituary of Sharon Susan Schnitker
Sharon Schnitker (née Seborowski), better known as “Sherri,” passed suddenly on 6 July 2024. She was
born on 31 December 1956 in Baltimore, MD and was the youngest sibling of Joseph and Veronica “Ronnie” Seborowksi.
Sherri graduated from Western High School in Baltimore, MD and married William “Bill” Schnitker in 1986. They found their village in the small neighborhood of Westminster, MD and made lifelong friendships that will be missed. There the family grew to include many dogs over the years, a few exotic birds, and their only son, Jason. Sherri worked hard as a homemaker, devoting herself to taking care of the family, supporting her son’s future aspirations, and serving as an operations manager for her husband Bill’s sheet metal business for many years. She worked hard on the home front until Bill’s suffered a stroke and the family relocated to Milton, FL in 2010 to be closer to Jason’s Naval Flight Training and to support Bill through his medical treatment.
Sherri has always been an active and dedicated participant in her Catholic Church. First in MD, then eventually in Milton, Florida where Bill and Sherri moved in 2010. Before moving to Florida, Sherri also served as a non-medical caregiver for the elderly.
In Milton, Sherri found her calling as an office assistant at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Nothing brought Sherri more joy than helping those in need and strengthening her faith. She had an additional passion for working with military service members and volunteering for organizations such as the USO.
Sherri was predeceased by her husband, Bill in 2022. Her brother, Robert in 2009, and her father Joesph in 1998. She is survived by her son Jason and her mother Veronica. A Mass and celebration of Sherri’s life will be held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The date will be announced via St. Rose’s social media pages.
She was a constant source of positivity and joy, and most of her free time was spent on the pristine Pensacola beaches, cooking delicious meals, or laughing with friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, sincerity, and her ability to always make people smile.
