I met Gerard in Pensacola, FL over 7 years ago. Once he found out we had a lot in common: Air Force veteran, stationed in Biloxi, and a Mason, HE would TALK for hours. He loved to tell long stories and I would tell him to hurry up and just give me the end of the story. Some of his stories were so funny I would be in tears laughing.
He cut my hair for years and he would always say "I'm not a barber, I just cut hair", while telling a long story.
We would watch sports on weekends, and fry fish "to put some grease on our stomachs". He loved to talk about athletes from Mississippi, and I would sometimes fact check it to keep him honest.
He was respectful to my family and everyone knew him as my friend I would talk crazy and laugh with. Gerard was a true friend who fascinated me with the books he read and his "conspiracy theories". He could talk for hours.
Gerard was a unique man that I am blessed to have known for 7 years. My sincere condolences to his family.
