Obituary of Troy N Thurman

Troy N. Thurman, age 84, of Crestview, Florida  passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

He was born in Kewanee, Illinois on January 7, 1940, to James M. and Nellie M. Thurman. He married Andrea J. Moe Thurman on May 5, 1962.

Troy worked for Pizza Hut Inc. for 37 years and retired as a Regional Franchise Manager. Throughout his life he was an active member in his community.  After retirement he became very involved in his community and church.   He volunteered for Special Olympics and at church had served on the Board of Trustees and been a member Community Council as well as helping at the monthly Soup Kitchen.  Troy also attended the weekly Prayer Group and was active in the Men’s group.  He especially enjoyed volunteering for the fall pumpkin patch.

Troy is survived by his children Lori Thurman DeFranza (Frederick), Amy Thurman Starck (Thomas) and 3 grandchildren, Matthew DeFranza, Christopher Starck and Rachel Starck. He is preceded in death by his wife, Andrea J. Moe Thurman.

He enjoyed watching football and baseball rooting for the Bears, Bills and Cubs and playing golf. He achieved excellence in his eyes by shooting a hole in one!

Troy’s wishes are for small intimate family service in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
