Obituary of Virginia June Truelove

“Virginia June (Walker) Truelove, 78, of Niceville, FL passed away on September 24, 2024 at home surrounded by her daughters, granddaughters, niece, and close friends. 

June was born on May 9, 1946 to Earl Lee & Bessie Florine Walker in York, Alabama.

June was the sole daughter born to her family and was affectionately called “The Baby” by all of older brothers and father.  June remained “The Baby” all of her life. 

June was a homemaker and cosmetologist, and loved all things glamour and beauty, she was her families own Hollywood starlett.  June was an absolute enigma, a beautiful and talented woman throughout her life, she loved to paint, tend to her garden, sewing, antique restoration, floral arranging, writing letters with the most stunning penmanship in all the land, but most of all spending time with her cherished grandchildren. 

In 1959, June met the love of her life, Billy Wayne Truelove.  June and Billy shared a fairytale love and marriage and were blessed with three beautiful daughters. Billy’s life ended tragically in 1972, but June continued to love and honor her late husband for the rest of her life.

June was preceded in death by her father Earl Lee Walker and mother Bessie Florine Tew; Husband, Billy Wayne Truelove; baby daughter, Angelea Joy Truelove-Helton; and older brothers, Edsel, Bob, and Richard Walker.

June is survived by her daughters, Elisa June Torrance (Bubba), Mistei Dawne Robuck (Julian); older brother, Bill Walker; niece, Sonja Walker Reinhardt and nephews, Todd, Wade, Bruce, & Ashley Walker; Grandchildren, Ashley, Traye, Spencer, Summer, and Daniel;  Ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. 

A memorial and celebration of June’s life will be held at Siloam Baptist Church, 34 Siloam Rd., Cuba, AL 36907 on Tuesday, October 1st at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gentiva Hospice, an organization June felt strongly about. Gentiva Foundation
