Obituary of Susan Barbara Paier
Susan Paier passed away on October 8, 2024, after fighting a long battle with a debilitating illness. Susan was born May 1, 1960, to Bernard and Carole Paier and grew up the oldest of three daughters in Hamden, CT. Susan received her Bachelors Degree in Speech & Hearing along with her Masters Degree in Audiology from Northeastern University in Boston. After moving back to CT Susan decided to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse so she enrolled in St. Vincent’s and became a registered nurse. Susan was an extraordinary nurse at St. Raphael’s in New Haven until a latex allergy forced her to give up working in a hospital setting so she nursed via telehealth and caring for patients in group homes. Susan moved to Florida to be closer to her baby sister in 2021.
Susan leaves behind her two heartbroken sisters, Ellen Richmond (Paul) and Judi Dallman (Alan), along with the nieces and nephews she loved with all her heart: Catrina Millares, Alyson Lessard, Alex Dallman, Matthew Richmond, and Cameron Richmond; and great nieces and nephews Logan, Haley and Morgan Millares and Emmy and Davey Lessard.. Susan adored her family, her many many cats, snowstorms, football, desserts of all kind, Bruce Springsteen and most especially, Pink. She was quirky and smart and hilarious and she was so very loved and will be so very very missed. Her sisters will bring Susan’s ashes home to Connecticut for a private burial.
