Obituary of Irvin Woodrow Wilson
Irvin Woodrow Wilson,79 of Ft Walton Beach, FL. passed away to be with his Lord and savior on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
He was born in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Willie and Hortense Wilson. He attended Vernon Regional Jr. College of Vernon, Texas and received an AAS in Mid-Management, also received an Associates Degree in Material Management from the Community College of the Air Force, 1981. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a BS in Business Administration, 1985.
He retired as a Master Sergeant (MSGT) from the United States Air Force having served from 1963 to 1984. He also, retired from the Civil Service as a Department of Defense Commissary Manager after serving 30 years. He attained numerous military and Civilian awards including being selected to represent the U.S. Air Force Department of Defense Distinguished Civilian Service Award.
His love for the water and aquatic animals called him to settle in Ft Walton Beach. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sailing and fishing. He enjoyed multi cultural foods and trying new recipes. He was a true Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans saints fan.
Survivors inlcude his ex-Wife, Elbradie Wilson; daughter, Yolanda Wilson; son, Irvin Wilson; favorite nephew, Steven Cooks; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Stephen Linebarger, and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Wilson; sister; Cynthia Wilson; brother, George Wilson; niece and nephew, Angela and John Cooks Jr; and mother and father, Hortense and Willie Wilson.
