Obituary of Susan Taylor Baird
Susan Taylor Baird, age 77, of Pensacola, FL, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025. Born on April 16, 1947 in Miami, FL, Susan was known for her grit, tenacity, fabulous cooking and gardening skills, and her undeniably loving spirit she shared with all she encountered.
Susan will be lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Craig Baird, of 40 years, her daughter, Laura Williams and her husband Jonathan Fish, her granddaughter, Emma (Maeve) Fish, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is joined in rest by her mother, Emma Taylor, her father, Thomas Taylor, her sons, Frank (Charles) Williams, Michael Williams, and John Baird, along with many other loved ones throughout her life. With a hefty family tree and a family consisting of both blood ties and bonds formed from the heart, Susan’s reach was as far as it was wide, and she was cherished deeply by many.
Among Susan’s most significant accomplishments was raising her four children and being MiMi to her only granddaughter Maeve, whom she held as her pride and joy. She served as an office manager for several medical practices over the past 40 years, and remained connected with amazing colleagues and lifelong friends. These ladies laughed together, loved one another, and supported each other through “thick and thin”.
Susan’s legacy is one of unyielding strength and generosity. Even when she was experiencing her own grief or in pain, she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did for herself. Her life served as a testament to her philosophy, "Sometimes we have no choice but to tackle the hard stuff in life” and “You have to keep moving."
A Celebration of Life for Susan will take place on February 1, 2025 at 11am at Gulf Breeze Presbyterian Church in Gulf Breeze, Fl. Reception to follow service. Those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate her life are welcomed. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
Susan’s loss is deeply felt by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Her memory will continue to live on and inspire strength, resilience, and generosity in those whose lives she touched.
