Obituary of Joan Virginia Adler Hayles
Joan Virginia Adler Hayles of Niceville, Florida, met her Lord on July 2nd, 2024.
She was born in Mobile, Alabama, on May 13th, 1955 to Edward and Katie Adler. She
married Danny Hayles on March 20th, 1976.
After high school, Joan received her certification in radiology, and worked as an X-Ray
Technician for several years. She then dedicated her life to being a homemaker to
provide a better upbringing for her three children. Her love of sewing grew over the
years, and after her kids were grown she became an entrepreneur, owning her own
seamstress business serving local interior decorators.
We thank God for her time with us. In her quiet ways, she mostly served the church
behind the scenes, sewed altar linens, baked communion bread, helped the prayer-
shawl ministry, worked with the liturgical arts team, and helped to design and build the
outdoor chapel. As her children grew up in the church she served in the nursery,
children’s ministry, and as a youth leader for many years. As her grandchildren grew up,
she served in KidzNet.
Joan is survived by her spouse, Danny Hayles, children Ashley, Lisa (Gabe), and Ryan
(Megan), grandchildren Jacob, Carter, Grace, Chase, Audrey, Charlie, and siblings
Nancy (Ben), Ronnie (Kelly), Jane (Rick), Shirley (Randy). She is preceded in death by
her parents, Edward and Katie Adler.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at Immanuel
Anglican Church, 250 Indian Bayou Trail, Destin, Florida 32541.
In lieu of flowers, it was Joan’s desire that people make a donation to Immanuel
Anglican Church ( https://iacdestin.org/give ).
